Conditions Oily Skin

Oily skin can become that one thing that holds you back from reaching your full potential and looking your best at all times. Many people think that oily skin is a jail sentence and that it’ll be impossible to eliminate. If you happen to be one of those people, worry not, we have good news! Oily skin can be eliminated or at least kept under control with a consistent and healthy skin care routine.

What Causes Oily Skin?

Oily Skin occurs when the sebaceous glands in your skin produce too much sebum, which is the oily, waxy substance that hydrates and protects your skin and is important to keeping your skin healthy. Too much sebum, however, leads to skin that is oily as well as acne and clogged pores. Having to fight oily skin can be a challenge and it requires consistent effort and care.

How To Fight Oily Skin

The first step to fixing your oily skin is actually confirming if you really have a significant problem going on. Is your skin, specifically your T zone (chin, nose, and forehead), greasy to the touch? Do you have frequent breakouts? Do you have an orange peel-like texture on your skin as a result of it being oily? If so, you’re in for an oily skin battling regimen. If not, you might want to make sure if you’ve misunderstood or underestimated what exactly oily skin is.

The next step in fighting oily skin is eliminating all kinds of sulphates from your skincare. If you happen to be using any beauty products that contain ingredients like sodium laurel sulfate or any other kinds of sulfates, it’s time to throw the whole bottle away. This is because sulfates can be extremely detrimental to your skin and can cause dryness that leads to an overproduction of oil. Moreover, make sure you aren’t using any exfoliators that are too harsh in nature and damaging your skin.

Next, there are several things you can do to fight off oily skin. One of the most important ones is washing your face regularly, as this can reduce the amount of oil on your skin. Make sure to wash with warm water and a gentle body wash like Shinkafa Body Wash or Shinkafa Charcoal Body Wash, and do not use soaps or washes containing harsh chemicals, added moisturizers, or fragrances. Make sure to pat your skin dry after you wash it.
