The sun-filled days of summer have arrived, which means your skin will likely be facing some dry and damaging days ahead. So in order to help keep your skin as vibrant and healthy as possible, its more important than ever to be aware of some of the harmful things you may be exposing it to.

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]Fun awaits, school is out, time to hit the beach, take the children to the pool, travel with friends, or maybe just enjoy the time off quietly with our family and pets. And in these fun-in-the-sun-filled months, there are loads of things that can cause or exacerbate an already dry skin. To be fair, winter poses a lot more problems for dry skin than summer. However, there are some important things to be aware of as you head off to our summer fun adventures.

What are some of the things to avoid or pay close attention to? This list is not exhaustive.

  1. Avoid harsh cleansing agents on your skin as those can be irritating and drying.
  2. Watch out for what is contained in your bug repellant.
  3. Avoid products with alcohol and harsh preservatives.
  4. Keep an eye on Chlorine levels in swimming pools, and be sure to rinse off as soon as possible after a swim.
  5. Shaving is another to watch closely. We have found that shaving with a good conditioner may help people that have sensitivity to commonly used shaving gels or creams.
  6. Finally, your air conditioner may cool down the home, but as it sucks humidity out of the air, it may also cause dry skin.

So how do you fight these summertime sources of dry skin?

Hydrate.

We suggest that you shower with a hydrating body wash, and follow with a body cream with natural SPF or a good body oil. We recommend Shinkafa’s body wash, body wash with charcoal, body cream with natural SPF, body oil and Shinkafa’s protectant face mousse if you wear makeup.

So sure, the  sun can do a number on your dry skin. But it doesn’t have to. Just be aware, hydrate, and have a great summer.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
