Coping with Acne and Blemished Dry Skin

Coping with Acne and Blemishes
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Your skin, especially your face, back, shoulders, chest and neck, is covered in tiny microscopic hair follicles known as pores. When these follicles over-produce cells, they can become blocked. In those situations, oil (sebum) which normally flows to the skin surface becomes trapped, bacteria forms and inflammation results. Sometimes when these heal, they leave blemishes.

Don’t believe the myths

Acne is not caused by dirt. There are many myths about acne and this is one of them. So, no, you are not dirty because you have acne. Indeed, frequent washing can be irritating to the pores causing them to be inflamed and in turn lead to acne. For this reason, athletes who need to shower regularly can have issues with acne. Some acne treatment can cause the skin to be dry. Harsh cleansers must be avoided by this group as they may also have very sensitive skin. This can start a vicious cycle.

There are other myths associated with acne, including that only teenagers get them. That obviously has been debunked. No matter the myth, there are many causes of acne.

There is a lot of literature out there about acne, so get as informed as you can – embarking on a journey to deal with acne, especially when accompanied by blemishes and dry skin, can be difficult and frustrating.

Pick your products and stay consistent

It is important to follow a consistent skincare regimen and not jump around too much between products. The reason is simple – a lot of products may not interact well with each other or with your skin type when used in certain combinations. Find out what works for you and stick with it.

And if acne gets too bad, please see a medical professional to make sure there are no underlying medical complications.

Some suggestions

Acne & Blemishes: For people with acne, blemished and dry skin, Shinkafa’s recommended combo of our products is: (a) Shinkafa’s Body Wash (daily use), (b) Shinkafa’s Face Masque (every three days), (c) Stretch Mark & Blemish Cream and (d) Body Oil. Use a 50-50 ratio of the Blemish Cream and Body oil immediately after the face masque. Do not use the masque as a makeup remover.

Make-up: If you wear makeup daily, we recommend you use Shinkafa’s Face Protector Mousse daily before applying makeup to shield your face. A good makeup primer is indispensable, whether you wear heavy or light makeup. Along with protecting your face from the ravages of makeup, it works wonders with reducing shine and helping your makeup stay in place.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]There are a lot of resources out there about dealing with acne, blemishes and dry skin, but finding success doesn’t have to be complicated.
